Alice, 15 years old, lives in a cabin in a small town near the forest. She has been held captive by her father in her home since she was very young, so she is very introverted and has no social skills. Due to her father’s abuse and no physical outlet for expression or communication, Alice has found an outlet in her own imagination, creating elaborate sometimes disturbing stories she plays out to deal with her own real-life traumas.
“Painted Survival” (USA), the disturbing 15-minute drama short starring Cassidy Jorgensen and directed by Maria Perlifonova, is another mandatory film confirmed for the lineup of the November live screening of Independent Shorts Awards.
After the screening, the Q&A with the cast and crew. At Raleigh Studios Hollywood on Saturday 30th, 6 pm.
“Painted Survival” was awarded Platinum Best Student Director (Female) and Silver Best First Time Director (Female), plus an honorable mention for Best Cinematography (Francesco Malandrino) in August 2019.
Besides “Painted Survival”, ISA will screen another 5 award-winning short films followed by a Q&A with the respective cast and crews.
