The largest live motorsport event in Latin America took place in Brazil, and its artistic opening featured over 500 drones flying over a drift car on a track transformed into a cinematic arena, complete with fire, light, and pyrotechnics, and NASCAR cars suspended in the air, making the spectacle unprecedented in the world. Months of programming were dedicated to the drones, and a single mistake by driver Jonathan Neves (JJ) could have resulted in disaster, with the drones colliding with the car and causing thousands of dollars in damage. In addition, the event featured original studio-recorded music, with artists playing piano, harp, violin, and other classical instruments, composing a piece in Portuguese in the style of Skyfall, complete with Morse code in the score bearing the initials of the Jota Racing Challenge and the voice of internationally renowned singer Amora.
The recording was spectacular, and it’s important to mention that everything was done live during the event, with no possibility of re-recording. Everything you see was recorded in a single take, since drones have a maximum time limit in the air and it wasn’t possible to attempt a second take.
