Tell Me A Fariytale

Tell Me A Fariytale

For years, the Kurdish language was banned, making it illegal to read, speak, or even listen to Kurdish songs. Driven by a desire to preserve this suppressed heritage, Yusuf embarks on a journey through Kurdish villages to collect ancient folk tales on the verge of being forgotten. The film follows his arduous path, capturing the deep bonds he forms with Kurdish women, elders, and children. As he navigates through intense family pressure, social taboos, and financial struggles, Yusuf’s resilience is tested. Even at his breaking point, he finds the strength to persevere and keep this cultural legacy alive. We witness Yusuf’s struggle as he strives to build a bridge between the past and the future.
