I have been creating stop-motion animations that explore personal narrative, and the intersection of memoir and self portraiture through the development of a personal language of visual symbols that appear iteratively throughout the work. I am fascinated by the flexibility of personal narrative and how we come to decide upon the story we tell about ourselves and how that story may change over time. In this short, Self, who represents the present tense observer, grapples with Crow, who represents desire for change.
