Mãe

Mãe is a psychological drama short film. Taking place within a therapy session, Amanda tells the story of her mother ‘mae’, who was the victim of a racist attack in the 90s, who subsequently developed PTSD and took her own life. Amanda tries to uncover the mysteries of her mother, while also exploring her own mixed-race identity. A story of displacement, intergenerational racial trauma, and identity-crisis: Amanda wants to understand the place she can call home.
