In the first scene, there is a boat turned upside down on the bank of a river.
In the second scene, we see a confident and thoughtful father collecting papers and documents, and we see that the mother is organizing bags at the same time and putting clothes inside. And the camera turns to Alyosha, the young daughter of the house, and she tries to choose a book for herself from the library in an undecided manner. She shows the crime and punishment book to her father. The father says to Alyosha “if you say so”. The preparations in the house continue, Alyosha enters her sleeping brother’s room (her brother is a 4-month-old baby) kisses him and gives him a soft toy (white dove), and leaves the room without saying a word. The family is ready and on their way, Alyosha reads a book to her family on the road as usual
(‘Where is it,’ thought Raskolnikov. ‘Where is it
I’ve read that someone condemned to death says or thinks,
an hour before his death,… )
after we heard a paragraph from Alyosha and our heroes are now in the middle of the river, after a wave overturns the boat used by the family, all our heroes, except for the mother, die one by one. The mother cries for minutes in front of the corpses of the father and Alyosha who washed up on the shore, and at the end of her crying only turns into a nervous scream, the movie ends, and we continue to hear her scream even when the end titles are flowing.
