It’s 29th July 1966, and 14 year old Bobby is training to work at his family owned hairdressers. His father, Jun, lectures Bobby about the ideals of his Chinese heritage, and carrying on his legacy as a barber. Bobby on the other hand can only think about England’s game in the World Cup Final tomorrow.
Trapped between the trends of Eastern and Western ideals, Bobby is confused as to where he belongs. He attempts to find a culture that he can subscribe to without being influenced by his parents beliefs.
