Carol Rankin lived a simple, quiet life surrounded by those who looked like herself, until 1958 when in college she falls in love with a Japanese American man named Ron Takaki. The two’s relationship, nearly ten years before interracial marriage was legal nationally, tested Carol and her love for Ron intensely, proving that the power of love can withstand all hate.
