“The story is based on a biography, but I didn’t want to make a documentary, I wanted to heighten the dramatic story. I like to escape into a film, where you can disappear into someone’s little world, and for that moment put your own demons & problems aside. And when you come back out, and brush the popcorn off, you feel enriched, empowered to look at your own demons in a new brave light. I hope our film achieves a little of that too”, says British filmmaker Garrick Hamm.
