“Aloneliness: A Screendance” is a short dance film, a re-imagining of an experimental modern dance piece for the stage, “Aloneliness”, that Summer Baldwin choreographed and performed in 2016 (originally including other dancers, live vocal accompaniment and a mixed media art installation). In the film adaptation, the dancer explores the experience of becoming overstimulated in social interactions, which causes her to seek relief in peaceful solitude; only to find that too much solitude leads her to feelings of crushing loneliness. The film follows her arduous journey through these dark emotions, into the overwhelming relief she finally realizes upon their passing.
