Independent Shorts Awards is honored to release the full list of the projects officially selected for the round of November 2018 (a qualifier for the 2019 ISA Annual Awards event in Hollywood).
Virginia-based Vigil Bose introduced to ISA his debut film, a 20-minute thriller, and conquered 8 awards between Platinum and Gold. “F A L L” is the title of an ambitious and solid work that makes us glimpse a very promising path for the newcomer filmmaker.
Awarded Bronze for Best Microfilm, “Rage” is a powerful 98-second work on boxing passion featuring Johanan (Joe) Gabriel. Directed by Seattle-based student filmmaker Myles Ross.
Platinum Best Supporting Actor (Special Jury Prize) in June round, Danny Gavigan is the second nominee for the 2019 ISA Annual Awards for his remarkable performance in ISA award-winning “Rumination”, directed by Chad Eric Smith.
Three nominations, one award: Gold Best LGBT short in October round. “Ice Cream and Tequila” is the debut work of Brazilian filmmaker Joel Junior, filmed in LA.
French filmmaker Thomas Deshays talks about “Next Time!”, awarded by ISA Platinum Best Comedy Short in October round. A funny and highly competent piece of filmmaking.
Awarded Silver for Best Indie Short and Bronze for Best Director (Male), “Box Office Smash” is one of the big pleasant surprises of October round. A powerful metaphor in a film described by Indie Shorts Mag as “a stellar work of art meets filmmaking.”
Platinum Best Actor in September round, John McNulty is the first nominee for ISA 2019 Best Actor, for his astonishing work in the multi-award-winning “Gun”, by Edward William Wasser.
