Kaire! ( Rejoice )

A man in his forties, experiencing a profound existential crisis, returns to his country of origin, Italy, to replace his identity card, damaged by years of absence. In the sweltering August heat, the man, who has just lost his voice during the journey, arrives at the civil registry office of a small town two hours before closing time. There, the woman at the counter, after mistaking him for a foreigner and despite her blatant chauvinism, decides to help him on the condition that he brings her a new ID photo before closing time. The race against time begins for this stranger, a tourist in his own homeland. Faced with a world that no longer perceives him as present, this mute character will finally succeed,
when all seems lost, in “rediscovering” his first name (and perhaps his voice?) by following
the steps of a mysterious child who will take him to a timeless place where only the language
of Homeric heroes will be able to give this shipwrecked man, lost in his storm, an island.
