Day Job

Day Job

Day Job is a short, documentary/performance/essay following the dual identity of a construction superintendent /experimental musician who merges his day job with his creative life. Over 25 years in construction, his music lived in the margins – early mornings, late nights, stolen weekends. When he found himself building a performing arts center, he realized the obstacle to his art could become the pathway into it. Near the end of construction, he performed a solo piece on the stage he helped build, documenting both the jobsite and the performance to create a film and soundtrack about labor, love, and reframing purpose.
