In the early morning light, a bruised Dahlia finishes burying a body in her backyard. Exhausted, she drops her shovel, only to be startled by a raven landing on its handle. She angrily swipes at the bird, but her hand passes right through it, bursting into mist and feathers. Spotting the bloody murder weapon on the ground, she grabs the knife and hurries inside.
At the kitchen sink, she vigorously scrubs the blade. The phantom raven reappears, watching her with judging eyes. As she tries to ignore the hallucination, sharp quills violently pierce the skin of her bruised arms and cheek, painfully sprouting into dark feathers.
The bird hops across the bloodstained floor, leaving crimson tracks. Panicked, Dahlia rushes to clean the mess, but the raven draws her attention to a wristwatch; a stark reminder of the life she just took. Tears forming in her eyes, she coughs up a mouthful of feathers.
Enraged, Dahlia lunges at the raven, plunging the knife into it. The blade passes harmlessly through the bird as it dissipates into a black mist. She chuckles, believing she has won, but her relief is cut short by a violent, choking fit. A torrent of feathers erupts from her throat. Agonizing pain consumes her as her body rapidly transforms. Her arms contort into wings, and she shrinks into a raven, flying away while leaving her own lifeless human body behind on the floor.
