Electra

Electra

As Electra navigates the exhaustion of big-city life, dating apps, and strip club work, she
searches for intimacy, even though she refuses to admit it to herself. Throughout the night,
she meets men searching for everything from sex to companionship, learning about men in
the process and becoming desperate and brutal in the dating market.
Balancing humor, absurdity, and melancholy, the film examines the impact of sex work on the
perception of intimacy through the eyes of a sex worker, and the commodification of intimacy
in contemporary urban life.
Caught between the search for connection and the degrading dynamics of sexual power,
Electra’s morning after work takes an unexpected turn, transforming a seemingly ordinary
night into a failed assault and the rejection of the care she had been seeking all along.
