A commission by John Gaeta (creator of the VFX for The Matrix film series) to create a “Classic Hollywood Busby Berkeley style song and dance piece” for the opening of the 2nd annual ESC Awards on his Escape.AI platform, celebrating achievements in the AI film industry.
Evoking the old-school glamor of 1930s Hollywood, I wrote a song celebrating the dawn of generative AI, in a manner that felt authentic to this style of those productions, designing the set, costumes for swimmers, dancers and the star “NeoCarmen” in a way that paid homage to Berkeley’s distinctive style of filmmaking without being derivative.
