A Handful of Dirt

A Handful of Dirt

Featuring Ojibwe painter John Potter, A Handful of Dirt is an exploration of our primordial connection to the natural world. Rooted in the Ojibwe story of the bond between humans and Ma’iingan—the wolf—the film invites us to remember our place among wild things. Within a handful of dirt, past, present, and future are held together. The final words linger, asking us to reconsider our entire way of being.

A Handful of Dirt is the first in a series of short films and mini documentaries exploring our connection to the natural world, Rediscovering the Wisdom of the Wilds.
