The Inspiration for a Confetti Storm – from studio to stage

In the face of an environmental crisis, a grand musical event unveils the power of a cosmic confetti storm to cleanse and renew Earth’s atmosphere.
“Confetti Storm,” is a powerful musical piece that is the climax of an animated feature film, Cosmic Rhapsody. The song tells the story of a cosmic event where a storm of celestial dust descends to purify a planet in the throes of an environmental crisis.
The film’s score was recorded at Abbey Road Studios, a collaboration where the music and animation teams worked side by side. During the recording of “Confetti Storm,” the team created an actual confetti storm inside Studio 3 to capture the visual and emotional essence of the cosmic event.
The song was later performed at a grand premiere at the Barbican Concert Hall by a world-class ensemble including pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Robert Ziegler, and the combined London Voices and City of London Choir. Hearing the choir sing the song’s chorus “Confetti Storm, Confetti Storm,” was a moment of immense pride and humility for the entire team. This humbling experience, fuelled by the audience’s appreciation, made all the hard work that goes into music and filmmaking in the performing arts worthwhile.
