Nuclear strikes turn an ordinary shift into isolation underground.
Junior engineer Intern No. 36 is sealed inside a bunker as automated safety protocols activate. The inhabitants are told the crisis is temporary, that their families are safe, and that they will return home soon. The waiting lasts eight years. Confinement, rationing, and growing tension take their toll. Not everyone survives. The engineer endures by holding on to a single idea, that one day he will return to his family. When the bunker doors finally open, the survivors step outside unprepared. The world they return to no longer exists. The entire continent has become a scorched wasteland. At the ruins of his family home, the engineer finds a note left by his younger brother – a fragile sign of life in a dead world. With no experience of the dangers beyond the bunker, driven only by hope, he takes his first steps into the wasteland, confronting not only its threats, but the question of whether meaning can still exist in a world that has lost everything.
