Young Li Ziwen is forced to part with his beloved stray dog, Baiyun, as his parents plan for a second child. He contemplates making a report to change the situation but ultimately hesitates and refrains. In the end, his mother suffers a miscarriage, and Baiyun goes missing, leaving the family in quiet devastation. Through loss and growth, Ziwen comes to understand his parents’ struggles and perceives the impermanence of life.
