When Newton steps out of my dream and into reality, the disappearance of a single sour apple launches a surreal journey from England’s fading orchards to Yunnan’s wounded hills. Guided by a dog that senses what I cannot, I trace the dying genes of sourness through storms, rituals, and ghost orchards. What begins as a search becomes a summoning of a vanishing taste. As sourness is erased from land, culture, and myth, the film asks: what remains when everything unconventional is eliminated? The fate of the sour apple mirrors the quiet extinction of every outsider.
