Tom Catena was on a one-way ticket to the good life. He grew up in a supportive and successful family and found himself on a football scholarship at Brown. As a boy becoming a man he was hungry for the best life could offer “Plenty of money and time on the golf course with his buddies”
While studying engineering he starts second-guessing this desire, and after graduating, returns to school to pursue medicine. That choice was the first step in a long journey of pursuing a life of less. This film follows Tom’s steps and climaxes in the present day, nearly 35 years later, at a small hospital in remote Sudan.
