Lao Du

The story takes place in the Heaven Office. Mr. Du deeply misses his wife Gui Xiang who is still living in Human World. After going through all kinds of difficulties, he finally gets one day off and comes to Human World. However, reality gives him a big blow – Gui Xiang seems to have already let go of him. Mr. Du now is experiencing inner conflict. On the one hand, he hopes that Gui Xiang moves on; on the other hand, he wants her to hold on to the love they shared in the years behind. As he follows Gui Xiang, her interactions with the neighborhood act like daggers to his heart, reminding him that he no longer belongs to this Human World, and that he’s no longer part of Gui Xiang’s life.As midnight draws on, the ball, as well as Mr. Du’s holiday, are coming to an end. Then Gui Xiang, in the red dress from the old days, appears in front of him. At this nostalgic moment, all their memories spring up. Mr. Du and Gui Xiang’s love, echoed and celebrated across time and space, has proven to be a weapon against loneliness and death.
