The Portuguese Calçada are pavements that are considered national heritage. However, there are increasingly fewer calçada stonemason masters in the country. In 2022, Mariana Arroja, singer & songwriter, writes a song inspired on the Portuguese Calçada and decides to explore this topic further. In her journey, she met several calçada stonemasons, their families and stories. These are the stories of those that make an art that tells the history of Portugal through stone and that is disappearing.
