Salvation

Down there, from where nothing is seen and nothing is heard. Where the law exists, but it’s impossible to abide by and impossible to enforce. Where the only thought in people’s heads is how to survive today and deal with tomorrow the next day. A strange figure patrols the plains, known by everyone but rarely seen by anyone. This invisible force is a murderer in the eyes of the law but famed by the people of the plains as a solution. They fear him greatly but need him dearly. No one knows him by name but all see him as a saviour.
