‘Let the Music Play On’ is the story of drama teacher Ivy Smith her reality and rapid decline after being diagnosed with dementia. Her son and daughter have to endure the agony of watching their mum slip slowly away into a world of sadness. Ivy receives her diagnosis after her husband and soul-mate Percy dies. To hold on to reality, she believes that Percy, her deceased husband, is still right by her side. To help her stay in reality, she transports herself through music back to her life before dementia. The records she plays on her old record player help her find happiness in her dance to the very end of her life and the nightmare she is trapped in.
