Sounds of Summer

Sounds of Summer

Over the summer I was tasked with making two films. At first, one of the films was going to be a cinematic edit with an emphasis on the sounds people create while participating in summer activities. The second project was going to be a short, narrative love story. While working on the first film, I decided to combine the storyline of a love story with specific location sounds, foley sound effects, and other ambient noises. I decided to shoot this film with no dialogue to intensify the connection between sounds and storytelling. I enjoyed experimenting with the silent aspect of this film and seeing just how detail I could attain by only using sound effects. In total, the project consisted of 400 individually recorded sounds.
