Gin is a 25-year-old female assigned at birth. She has very long hair and she enjoys going out like most “stereotypical” party girls.
One day, she asks her best friend, Cluster, to help her cut her long hair. Even though she backs out at the end, Cluster can still tell something is going wrong with her.
Along the journey, Gin meets a “straight-acting boy” Ted who tries to flirt with her, a “girl” named Casey, who cuts “her” hair after “she” breaks up with “her” boyfriend, and a pretty girl standing on the train. Each of these people brings her a new perspective on gender and pushes her to step out of her comfort zone.
After a crazy day running around town with Cluster, Cluster reveals a big secret that she has never told Gin before. The secret shocks Gin and her ideas of stereotypes. She looks away at the ocean and feels.
