J. S. Bach – An Endless Journey – Prelude

The film presents the author’s “endless journey” for the perfect interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach’s work (1685 – 1750). Bach composed six Suites for solo violoncello. The Prelude of the first Suite is presented in the film with a transcription made by the author for double bass. The film also presents the history and exhibits the important Brazilian historical and cultural heritage that is the Nossa Senhora das Dores Church, narrates about the search for the creation of gut strings, which were used in Bach’s time, explains what a suite is, its parts, and the purpose of the Prelude inside a suite.
