The One I Wanted To Be

The One I Wanted To Be

This dance-film is inspired by the feminist poems of Portuguese poet Florbela Espanca. My research lies on themes of women and gender-based violence, as well as the female subject in a patriarchal society.
Through intrinsic metaphors, the characters presented on the film represent the figure of Eve as the bridal, the 21st-century and the 18th-century woman. This project involved the collaboration of many professionals here in the US, Brazil, and Spain.

Directed by Paula Higa (USA)
