下校（Gekou) : Jap. word for “Coming home from school”
Under the influence of Covid-19, people have disappeared from the city. The everyday life of the past has changed into an extraordinary life.
However, it is also true that we can now see parts of the world that we could not see in the past.
「下校」 is a work that depicts the extraordinary in the ordinary.
I always take the same route home. However, when I take a detour for a trivial reason, I am always stimulated by new discoveries and realizations. Just by walking down a different street, the mundane daily life shifts and a different world appears.
The boundary between the two is very delicate, and what is extraordinary now may one day become ordinary. And vice versa, of course. I tried to capture this sense of boundary coming and going in this work.
