A Critter Fable

“A Critter Fable” explores themes of adapting and overcoming the struggle of disability. This animated short, featuring music and artwork by quadriplegic artist/composer Grace Fisher, highlights the path of a caterpillar whose disappointment in a failure to launch gets inspired by the colors and differences around him. The caterpillar realizes that even though he cannot fly he can still live a happy life and add color to the world in his own special way. The transcendent power of art, music and nature combine to help us see the creativity and humanity in all people. The critters were created by children with special needs in Santa Barbara. “We have a choice to remain slaves to our past expectations or we can be pioneers and embrace new possibilities”
