As a professional viola player, teacher, and street musician, the entire D.C. area serves as Vasili Frankos’ stage as he “busks” – performing in public on street corners, at the Metro, and in parks; his string case open in front of him graciously accepting tips for his public performance. Following in Vasili’s footsteps is Sonny, his spirited seven-year-old pupil, who is gearing up to carry on the tradition of busking for the very first time.
