“Medea’s Walk” is a Pasolini inspired Butoh opera, starring butoh dancers Valentin Tszin and Flavia Ghisalberti with music by Audrey Chen (vocals), Phil Minton (vocals), Henrik Munkeby Norstebo (trombone), Thomas Rohrer (rabeca), and Michael Vorfeld (percussion), staged in front of the UFO looking roof at Olympic stadium of Kiev, Ukraine. This genre-bending opera has no melodic lines, let alone arias, but can be perceived as a counterpoint of thriller threads by the body and sound performance in their mixture of beauty and pain.
Directed by Mel Hsieh (Ukraine)
