From 3,249 Films to 120 Finalists – 2025 Annual Awards Long List Announced

Independent Shorts Awards is thrilled to announce the Finalists (Long List) for the 2025 Annual Awards:

This year, 120 projects have been selected from the pool of monthly finalists chosen between June 2024 and June 2025 — a total of 3,249 films from 65 countries. These annual finalists make up the top 3.69% of all submissions for the year. The selected projects, representing 31 countries, span the diverse genres featured in the festival’s competition.

The long list will now be narrowed down to form the official nominees list—typically around 70 projects—which will be screened during the 7th Annual Independent Shorts Awards, taking place on September 6th at Regal LA Live in Los Angeles.

The full screening lineup and event program will be released in early August.
